I had two dreams that I had when I was younger – to become a professional hockey player or work in a numbers-related career where I could help people. While the hockey career did not pan out as I had hoped, my dreams in the latter are well on their way. I started my career with a large retirement plan provider working with corporate businesses helping to manage their retirement plans. In my current role as an Associate Financial Planner, I work with business owners, executives and clients nearing retirement.
A hockey player that made it a bit further in their professional sports career than me, Wayne Gretzky, once said that “A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great player plays where the puck is going to be.” I take that same approach in helping clients build financial plans. I find joy in working with clients on long-term financial plans and anticipating decisions and obstacles that may come up in the future. I like helping people make big decisions that are connected financially to their plan but also emotionally connected to their values as well as life goals.
On the personal side:
I was born in North Dakota, but was raised here in the south metro and proud to still call the area home. Besides the beforementioned hockey, I enjoy golfing as well as exploring new restaurants and breweries with my girlfriend. I also enjoy spending time at our cabin in the Crosslake area as much as possible.
