My name is Sam Schwalbach, and I’m a rising junior at the University of Wisconsin–Madison studying Finance, Investment, and Banking. Drawn to careers that combine finance with personal relationships, I’m interested in wealth management because it provides the opportunity to help people achieve their financial and life goals. That combination of analytical problem-solving and meaningful client relationships is what makes the field especially appealing to me.
My work experience has prepared me well for this career path. I launched a basketball training business for youth players in my hometown and have worked in hospitality and operations roles across multiple restaurants and golf courses, where I developed strong communication skills and learned how to effectively serve and meet the needs of customers. At UW–Madison, I’m involved in several student organizations, including the Wealth Management Group and the Capital Management Club.
On the personal side:
Outside of work and school, I enjoy golfing, basketball, lifting, and spending time with my friends and family. I’m looking forward to my internship with Freedom Financial Partners, where I will continue to gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced advisors, and develop a greater understanding of the financial planning process.
